paper/velocity modern forwarding support?

it would be nice to be able to put viaproxy behind velocity, with modern forwarding, so if i had a backend server behind viaproxy that did uuid forwarding or whatever, i could have my main velocity proxy pass to viaproxy with modern forwarding format, then to the backend server or whatever. something. as it stands i dont think i can use velocity with viaproxy at all without using like bungee forwarding which kinda sucks

Have you tried enabling bungeecord-player-info-passthrough in the ViaProxy config? Even tho its named bungeecord-player-info-passthrough its just a generic "extra data in handshake packet" forwarder, so it might work with Velocity

afaik bungee does what velocity considers as "legacy" forwarding, aka insecure, not bungeeguard or modern compatible. it might work maybe but idk

ViaProxy doesn't have any Bungeecord specific handling. I just named the option bungeecord-player-info-passthrough, but it might work with velocity modern forwarding. You should just try
